SpaceX announced a $100 billion launch campus at Pecan Island in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana, five launch complexes with two pads each, with construction from 2027 and first launches as soon as 2029; the site plan carries its own propellant production and power generation, which is what thousands of launches a year actually requires. SpaceX adopted Nvidia's Vera CPU for Starmind, the processor side of the Vera Rubin platform its orbit-optimized AI1 payload is already built on. Anthropic is preparing an IPO aimed at SpaceX's $86.2 billion record along a possible $30 Trillion total addressable market. SpaceX flew the last planned Falcon 9 Starlink mission from Florida on August 25, 29 satellites from Space Launch Complex 40, with Florida Starlink handing off to Starship and Vandenberg staying on Falcon 9.

This week's analysis, "SpaceX Louisiana: On-Site Propellant Becomes Necessary at Scale," prices what an on-site fuel plant replaces. Trucked propellant costs far more per flight than propellant made where it is burned, but the real constraint is physical: each flight draws a long queue of cryogenic tankers, and at the cadence SpaceX is building toward those arrivals run near-continuous, leaving no slack for weather or a missed delivery. Merchant supply stops being plausible just above the cadence Starbase is already approved for. Payback follows cadence, not construction cost.
