xAI completed its public rebrand to SpaceXAI, and the first release under the combined name follows at once: Musk says Grok 4.5 goes public, tomorrow, July 9. The company also asked the FCC for a 100,000-satellite Starlink Gen3 constellation, and the Wall Street Journal reports Starlink is targeting the U.S. telecom market, Verizon and T-Mobile's home turf. Starlink aviation hardware, meanwhile, was repriced to $200,000. SpaceXAI entered the Nasdaq-100 before the July 7 open. Starship Flight 13 targets July 14 and Blue Origin is raising $10 billion at a $130 billion valuation, its first outside capital, with New Glenn still working back to flight.

Coatue Management is expected to lead with roughly $4 billion, Jeff Bezos is adding about $2 billion of his own, and the remaining roughly $4 billion is drawing demand from other large institutional investors. The coverage describes commitments in an advanced round rather than a closed one, and neither Blue Origin nor the named investors has confirmed the deal.
The capital arrives while Launch Complex 36 remains under reconstruction from the May 28 New Glenn explosion, with the return-to-flight timeline gating both the company's launch backlog and delayed Amazon Leo satellite deliveries, and analyst forecasts of roughly $5 billion in spending this year. Coatue's lead position brings the same crossover money that anchored last month's SpaceX IPO into Bezos's company at a fraction of SpaceX's public valuation.

SpaceXAI's Starship Flight 13 has been given a primary launch date of July 14, 2026 in an FAA Operations Advisory. The flight is planned as the second of the Starship V3 (Block 3) vehicle, pairing Booster 20 with Ship 40 from Pad B at Starbase. It follows Flight 12 on May 22, 2026, the V3 debut, in which the booster was destroyed after an abnormal post-separation flip, deploying its 22 Starlink simulators but aborting its planned engine relight.
An operations advisory reserves airspace; it is not a launch authorization, and at least one tracker still lists July 31. The FAA required a SpaceX-led mishap investigation into the Flight 12 booster loss before Starship flights resume and that controls the schedule. A July 14 flight would put 53 days between V3 flights.

SpaceXAI has asked the FCC for authority to launch and operate up to 100,000 Gen3 Starlink satellites under application SAT-LOA-20260630-00264. The filing proposes two very low Earth orbit shells at nominal altitudes of roughly 325 km and 475 km, satellites of 2,000 kg each that SpaceX says only Starship can launch. SpaceX claims a tenfold increase in downlink capacity and a 22-fold increase in uplink over the current generation, pitching multi-gigabit symmetrical service to what the filing calls a "supersonic tsunami" of AI-driven demand.
This is the third large SpaceX constellation application now pending, after the September 2025 request for 15,000 direct-to-cell satellites (SAT-LOA-20250916-00282) and the January 2026 orbital data center application for up to 1 million satellites (SAT-LOA-20260108-00016). The proposal also hardens the coupling between Starlink capacity growth and Starship: at 2,000 kg per satellite the constellation cannot ride on Falcon 9.

SpaceXAI has raised the price of Starlink Aviation hardware for business jets to $200,000, up from $145,000 last year, a roughly 38 percent increase. The monthly plans moved further: the Aviation Regional 25GB tier doubled from $2,000 to $4,000 per month, Aviation Global Unlimited doubled from $10,000 to $20,000, and a new Aviation Regional Unlimited tier arrives at $12,500 per month. Starlink's marketing pitches 1 Gbps service "from takeoff to landing, around the world."
The increase repositions the product upmarket ahead of the advertised gigabit service tied to the Gen3 constellation, for which SpaceX filed its 100,000-satellite FCC application last week. Higher Starlink pricing widens the opening for Amazon Leo in aviation connectivity.

Elon Musk posted on X on July 8, 2026 that SpaceXAI will make Grok 4.5 publicly available on July 9, citing "strong positive feedback from customers in our beta test program." Musk described the model as "an Opus-class model, but faster, more token-efficient and lower cost," naming Anthropic's frontier tier as the reference point. The model has reportedly been in private beta inside SpaceXAI and Tesla since late June.
"Opus-class" is a vendor characterization, and the company it benchmarks against is also SpaceXAI's largest disclosed compute customer: Anthropic pays $1.25 billion per month for Colossus 1 capacity, alongside Google at $920 million per month and Reflection AI at $150 million per month, so SpaceXAI is now competing at the model layer with the counterparties underwriting its data center buildout.

The February acquisition was structured as an all-stock transaction that valued SpaceX at approximately $1 trillion and xAI at approximately $250 billion.
